About Lauren

“I have always had a highly attuned sense of body awareness as I was a competitive gymnast until I was 21. I started massaging my teammates in high school during practice without having any training but intuitively knowing how. As I got older I became more fascinated by anatomy, physiology and the mind-body connection. These fascinations evolved into passions for holistic nutrition and wellness, alternative healing modalities, and a higher awareness surrounding fitness, health, and healing in general. I graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelors in Exercise Science in 2011. I considered going to grad school for physical therapy or orthopedic physician assistant because I knew I desired to help people to heal. I decided to pursue my massage passion and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I graduated from the Finger lakes school of Massage in 2014 and that program completely changed my life. It was a major catalyst in my personal growth and opened my eyes to the alternative medicine world. My background with practicing has been in a variety of different settings. I have 6 years of professional experience ranging from vichy shower, body scrubs, and beach massages on Kauai, to hot stones, infrared red light therapy and deep tissue in central NY, to doing warm-up massages before patients’ chiropractic adjustments here in Asheville. My most fulfilling experiences within my work are always with clients where there’s reciprocal learning that transpires. I also especially enjoying working on individuals who ask for specific work on areas of pain or injury. I’ve received compliments from clients stating that my massage was the first they’ve experienced in which they felt the therapist knew the anatomy. A lot of my off time is spent reading research articles and books on alternative methods and therapies. I am outgoing, friendly, and compassionate. I am intelligent, observant, and optimistic. Self-growth, self-empowerment, and remaining open-minded are important practices for me. I value honesty, respect, and open communication.”
